The research direction is divided into the integrated circuit design and large-scale integrated circuit technology.

The integrated circuit design focuses on the research of large-scale integrated circuits and system analysis and design. The research contents are high-level analysis and synthesis of digital systems using hardware description language and EDA technology, optimization design research of analog systems and analog-digital hybrid systems, physical level design and analysis of large-scale integrated circuits. The research specifically includes deep sub-micron CMOS circuit characteristics and optimization research, Low-voltage, low-power CMOS circuit analysis, and design, integrated circuit layout design and optimization technology, etc.

Large-scale integrated circuit technology researches the preparation technology, structural characteristics, mechanical properties, physical properties of various information materials,and their applications in various solid-state electronic devices and industrial technologies. The research content includes the following aspects: (1) new resistive materials and devices, (2) new lithium-ion battery materials and new solar cells, (3) doping and modification of ferroelectric, dielectric, and superconducting materials, and (4) simulation and modeling of physical properties of new materials.

The full-time engineering master's degree in this field focuses on the design, production, and information technology application of microelectronic devices, optoelectronic devices, and integrated circuits. The goal of the engineering master’s degree is to cultivate applied and compound high-level engineering technology and engineering management talents with a solid foundation, good quality, strong practical ability, and a certain degree of innovation for industrial enterprises and engineering construction departments, and engineering design and research institutes.
