Hebei University is a key university under the “one province one university” key construction university and a national first-class university supported by Hebei Province. HBU is also a key comprehensive university jointly established by the People's Government of Hebei Province, the Ministry of Education and National Defense Science and Technology Industry Bureau. In recent years, gratifying achievements have been made continuously in the construction of an education platform for international students as well. In 2009, HBU began to enroll students in Master’s Program of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL). In the same year, HBU was awarded enrollment qualification of the Confucius Institute Scholarship. In 2010, HBU became the first university qualified to accept overseas students with Chinese Government Scholarship, and was approved as the HSK examination center by the National Hanban Office. Two Confucius Institutes were built in Brazil and the United States in 2010 and 2011 respectively by HBU. Overseas Education in China Research Institute of Hebei Province was built in April 2013 and HBU was elected as its presidential unit. In July 2014, HBU was awarded of “Top University for Overseas Study and Education in China” at the annual conference of the National Institute of Foreign Student Education and Management. In July 2015, HBU successfully held a seminar on International Education and Exchange in China between Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Hebei Province and signed a declaration on the coordinated development of overseas education in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province. In September 2016, HBU was approved as the Chinese Language Education Base by the National Overseas Chinese Affairs Office. In October 2016, HBU was invited to participate in the second batch of overseas education quality certification work in China. In June 2017, HBU established “New Silk Road Education Alliance” with Tianjin University, Nankai University, Communication University of China, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Hebei University of Technology, Tianjin Yinghua International School to promote the coordinated development of overseas students’ education in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area. In December 2017, HBU became one of the second batch of universities that successfully passed the overseas education quality certification work in China. Since the re-enrollment of foreign students, HBU has trained nearly 5000 graduates for more than 90 countries such as South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Russia, Sultan, Zimbabwe, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Zambia and so on. As HBU effectively promotes the exchanges between China and foreign countries, she has gained high praise all over the world.

01. Applicant Qualifications

1. The applicants must be Non-Chinese citizens who abide by Chinese laws, regulations and school disciplines with good characters, respect Chinese habits and customs. [The applicants who are coming to China to study must hold a valid passport or documents to testify foreign nationality for more than 4 years (including), and records of the practical living abroad for more than 2 years within the last 4 years (before April 30 of the first school year). [The practical residence of 9 months can be calculated as a year, according to entry and exit visas.]

2. The applicants must be aged over 18 years old by the end of Sept. 1^st 2018. 

3. The applicants must have a senior high school diploma and good achievement scores.

4. Chinese language teaching project: Applicant’s Chinese level should be above level 4 of New HSK.

English teaching program: Applicant’s mother tongue or official language is English or English level is above IELTS 5.5 points/TOEFL75 points or other certificate of English proficiency equivalent to such tests as TOEFL, IELTS etc. (for non-native English speakers).

1. All courses are taught in Chinese. (If your Chinese levels did not reach the standard, you can apply for one- year remediation of the Chinese Language.)

2. The following majors are taught by English:

Master: master of journalism and communication, master of tourism management, etc;

Doctor: philosophy, applied economics, Chinese language and literature, journalism and communication, Chinese history, chemistry, optics engineering, management science and engineering, the ideological and political education, educational history, zoology, etc;

3. For other majors that need English teaching, please consult the College of International Exchange and Education.

06. The Specific Process

1. After receiving the materials, our school will reply within 5 working days.

2. If the application is approved, we will inform you by E-mail. After receiving the reply, please provide the overseas medical certificate (duplication) and the detailed address of contact.

3. Our university will then conduct further examination and review of all the materials. After the examination, we will send the admission letter of Hebei University and the JW202 form to your provided mailing address.

4. If no response is received within 5 working days, please contact us again.

5. Visa application:

After receiving the admission letter of Hebei University and the JW202 form, you can apply for the study visa from the Chinese embassy in your country.

Please inform our university of your arrival time after the successful application of Visa.
